About me
Marta Nowak-Kulpa
I am a psychologist and a certified psychotherapist (after full and continuing training at the Polish Milton H. Erickson Institute).
I learned diagnosis and psychological support working, from 2004, at the Psychiatric Hospital in Toszek.
Since 2007 I have had my own psychotherapy practice, offering individual and family therapy.
Since 2012 I have worked with patients of the Maria Skłodowska-Curie National Research Institute of Oncology in Gliwice on strengthening their resilience, perseverance in hardship and adaptation to change, providing therapeutic care for patients of the Clinic of Oncological and Reconstructive Surgery.
I share the experience gained in my work by leading workshops in Poland and around the world (including Hungary, the USA and Australia). I am a member of The International Society of Hypnosis and work with the Australian Society of Hypnosis (Perth), the Milton H. Erickson Institute of the Bay Area (California) and the Polish Milton H. Erickson Institute.
I teach the use of Ericksonian therapy and ways of coping with life changes. I train doctors and therapists, volunteers and educators, aiming for an accessible message and the practical use of effective solutions. (In keeping with Milton H. Erickson’s thought that it is easier to learn when you are happy.)
I tell stories.
I know the power of parables and share it with others, using healing metaphors in my work. Since the beginning of the covid-19 pandemic I have been recording therapeutic stories, so that those who could not attend psychotherapy at that time could also draw on their power. Some of them can be heard in the Video section.
Work is my passion and travel my inspiration. Yet my greatest joy, motivation and adventure is motherhood.

Following my patients, I tell myself and others that we have to live. As well as possible. Now, because time is too precious to waste. Life is change, and the greatest change in the world begins with the smallest change in yourself.
