About me

Marta Nowak-Kulpa

I am a psychologist and certified psychotherapist (after comprehensive and continuous training in The Polish Milton H. Erickson Institute).

I learned to diagnose and provide psychological support while working since 2004 at the Psychiatric Hospital in Toszek.

Since 2007 I have my own psychotherapy practice providing individual and family therapy.

Since 2012 I have been working with patients of the Institute of Oncology in Gliwice on strengthening their self-esteem, perseverance in hardship and adaptation to changes, providing therapeutic care to patients of The Oncologic and Reconstructive Surgery Clinic

I share my experience by conducting workshops in Poland and abroad (e.g. in Hungary, USA, Australia). I am a member of The International Society of Hypnosis and cooperate with Australian Society of Hypnosis (Perth), Milton H. Erickson Institute of the Bay Area (California) and The Polish Milton H. Erickson Institute.

I teach about the practical use of Ericksonian therapy and how to cope with life changes. I train doctors and therapists, volunteers, educators, focusing on the transfer in an accessible form and practical application of effective solutions. (In keeping with Milton H. Erickson’s thought that it is easier to learn by being happy.)

I am a storyteller. I know the power of stories and share them with others, using healing metaphors in my work. Since the beginning of the covid-19 pandemic, I have been recording therapeutic stories to give those who could not come to therapy at that time the opportunity to benefit from their power as well. Some of them are available to listen to here: JUST LIKE THAT! PSYCHOTERAPEUTIC STORIES (Właśnie tak! Opowieści psychoterapeutyczne) or under the Videos tab.

My work is my passion, and traveling is my inspiration. But my greatest joy, motivation and adventure is motherhood.

Behind my patients, I tell myself and others that we need to live. As well as possible. Now, because it’s a shame to waste time. Life is about change, and the biggest change in the world starts with the smallest change in yourself.
